PEOPLE who frequent Burton's Aldi in Horninglow Road for their weekly shop could soon be finding ostrich meat on the shelves.
The supermarket chain is adding the South African meat to its stores in September for £4.99.
The product comes after successful sales of Aldi's waygu meat last year.
Although it comes from a bird, the flavour of ostrich meat is closer to that of beef than chicken or turkey.
A spokesman for Aldi said: "We have sourced some of the finest ostrich available.
"It's very low in calories while high in protein and so is a great, guilt-free way to enjoy red meat."
