Allotment plots are now up for grabs

PEOPLE interested in taking on allotment could be in luck if they live in a South Derbyshire Village.

There are a few plots available for rent in Monsom Lane, Repton, and new applications are now being welcomed.

Holders should live in either Repton or Milton and have a desire to grow their own produce.

The rental charged is described as ‘very reasonable’ and a reduction is available for those retired or not in employment.

Cause of village issues now revealed

PARISH council chiefs have revealed the cause of a boggy area near to a village hall.

Overseal Parish Council told the Mail that the issue at the rear of its village hall, in Woodville Road, has been caused by a thin level of topsoil found to be impermeable clay.
