PEOPLE are being offered the chance to win £100 of fuel as part of an effort to catch a thief.
Owners of the Ivy Garage, in Main Street, Alrewas, have launched the unique campaign as part of an effort to try to locate a man who stole fuel on two separate occasions.
Now, after Staffordshire Police revealed officers were linking the incidents, garage bosses have released CCTV images of the man who sped from the scene without putting his hand in his pocket.
A spokesman for the garage told the Mail: "A reward has been offered for information leading to the arrest of a man believed to be responsible for two fuel thefts in Burton.
"The first incident happened on August 5 at the JT Leavesley Ltd garage in Alrewas, while the second occurred at the same petrol station at 8.50pm on Friday, August 22.
"In the latest incident the offender, driving a vehicle with stolen numberplates, stole £62.42 of fuel.
"Police are linking the two offences and are investigating.
"We have now released a CCTV image of the suspect in the hope that someone might recognise him and contact police with information.
"A reward of £100 of fuel has been offered to the first person who comes forward with information which results in an arrest."
Anyone with information is asked to call police on the non-emergency 101 or number, or con Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111 (Crime No:FZ47534/2014).
