AN ambitious cub scout in Yoxall has achieved every single badge available to her in less than a year.
Jade Tideswell set her self the challenge of gaining all 43 badges before the time she was nine, after joining the cub pack at the Forester’s Scout Group just last year.
The youngster proudly accepted her badges on Monday evening – just two days before her ninth birthday.
Jade, of Brickhill Lane, Newborough, came up with the idea after reading about something similar in a scout annual.
Her mum Jackie said: “She just loves trying new things. She’s the sort of child that likes to keep herself busy.
“She has a different thing going on every night. She loves doing it,”
Mrs Tideswell has had the onerous task of sewing all the badges onto Jade’s uniform in time for the presentation this week.
Group leader Angela Burns, who runs the cub sessions at St Peter’s School in Yoxall, described Jade’s task as ‘a rare feat’.
“It’s quite a task. Its the first in our group and I haven’t heard of anyone in Burton district that has done it before,” she added.
