It was a significant day in ARRIVA MIDLANDS UNDER-13 DIVISION ONE.

Shamus Amer’s goal gave Edge Hill a vital three points against top-two rivals Barton Vikings.

The Stapenhill side’s bid for runners-up spot received another boost with Ashby Ivanhoe’s 4-2 victory at Rolleston Diamonds.

Although Kian Beard and Kynan Sherriff netted for the Diamonds, their efforts were undone by Ben Jones’ double and further contributions from Ethan Humphries and Shamuel Islam.

Marlborough Rovers had seven different scorers against Measham Welfare, including doubles from Domonic Coe and Harry Pulford in a 9-0 scoreline.

In BJFL UNDER-13 DIVISION TWO, TS Sports had to overcome a first minute goal from Joe Butcher and a man-of-the-match performance from visiting keeper James Pountain before completing a 4-1 victory which lifted them out of the bottom two in the league.

Sports were denied on four occasions prior to Joe Beresford levelling before the interval.

Beresford added a second, heading home Oliver Yeomans’ corner, before Ashley Morris and Rhys Dickinson scored in quick succession to end the visitors’ stubborn resistance.

A similar 4-1 scoreline was posted by leaders Belvedere Blue, who had Ciran Haughey, James Hyslop, Reece Marsh and Joe Payne supplying the goals at Marlborough Yellow, with James Reed claiming the Ashby side’s goal.

Hilton Rhinos remained on the heels of Belvedere after overcoming stable mates Hilton Lions 8-3.

While no scorers were supplied by Rhinos, Cameron Kemp (2) and Travis Gregory were the Lions’ scorers.
