PEOPLE are being asked to keep a beady eye out for a barn owl that has gone missing from Newhall.

Ghost, a female owl, flew off from New Road on Tuesday night and was last seen on a roof in Park Road being attacked by crows.

Owner Claire Orme said: “My husband brought her out of the aviary and hadn’t fastened the jesse properly (the straps around her legs). She went up and panicked and didn’t know where to go.

“We chased her for an hour but she went over the rooftops.”

Anybody who sees Ghost should call Simon Orme on 0775 4873123.

Ghost is tame but normally only goes to Simon.

The danger of her being outside is that she cannot hunt for herself and does not understand why other birds attack her.

Ghost has a ring on her leg with her number on.

Her cage was left open overnight in the hope that she would come home but she didn’t.
