AN appeal has been made to trace a missing dog who has raised money for Burton’s Queen’s Hospital.

Ziggy, the young spaniel is missing, and his owners fear he has been possibly stolen.

He has appeared in the Mail when he helped to raise funds for the hospital’s League of Friends annual sponsored dog walk.

His owner, Jo Hopkins, who has volunteered at the hospital radio for seven years following her kidney transplant, said she misses him dreadfully and hopes that they will be reunited very soon.

She said: “Ziggy is a very much loved and now missed family pet. He has helped me to stay fit and been a great comfort so it is dreadful without him.”

Though Ziggy had a collar and identity disc on when he went missing during a family walk in Alrewas on January 19, this may have been removed or fallen off. However, he is microchipped so can be easily identified at any vets or rescue centre.

Readers are urged to keep an eye out for a new dog on the block and report if they have any suspicions by phoning 07790291494.
