HOMEBUILDER Barratt Developments has beaten off competition from hundreds of entrants to be shortlisted for the East Midlands final of the National Apprenticeship Awards 2014.
The employer has created more than 3,000 new jobs at its sites across the country in the past year alone and has pledged to take on 1,100 apprentices, graduates and trainees over the next three years, in addition to the 600 trainees already recruited since February 2013.
The firm has been shortlisted for an award in the BT Macro Employer of the Year category for its employment of apprentices in the National Apprenticeship Service's east region.

Richard Brooke, regional managing director at Barratt Developments, spoke to the Mail.
He said: "To be shortlisted as a finalist for such a prestigious award is a real achievement and a fitting testament to the hard work and dedication of everybody at the company involved in the recruitment and training of new apprentices."
