AN art exhibition aiming to raise awareness of mental health conditions is due to begin at Burton Library today.
Two Viewpoints: Many Styles, is a collaborative effort from brother and sister team Janneke Evans and Tim Bos.
They will be using the two-week exhibition as an opportunity to raise money towards anxiety and anger management courses at Burton Mind.
The pair were inspired to hold the show following a family battle with bipolar disorder.
Mrs Evans’ son Kim, who used to live in the area, was diagnosed with the condition when he was at university in the 1990s.
He has written a book about his experiences, entitled Memories of Mania.
Mrs Evans said she thought it was vital to raise awareness of mental health problems, in an effort to remove the stigma which she believes many people still attach to these types of illnesses.
