BURTON Albion will begin their 2014/15 League Two campaign with a trip to Oxford United on August 9.

The Brewers’ season starts and ends with visits to the country’s big university towns, as they travel to Cambridge United in the final game on May 2.

Their first home league game sees them face Dagenham & Redbridge at the Pirelli Stadium on August 16 - after the visit of Wigan Athletic in the League Cup - and then host Exeter City on Tuesday, August 19, kick-off 7.45pm.

The festive fixtures have Albion hosting Tranmere Rovers on Boxing Day before travelling to Accrington Stanley on December 28.

On Easter Monday (April 6), they host Wycombe Wanderers, after playing at Plymouth Argyle the previous Saturday (April 4).

In terms of midweek trips, they are currently set to travel to AFC Wimbledon on September 16, Carlisle United on October 21 and Exeter City on March 3.

Albion have a good record against the Us at the Kassam Stadium, where they won 2-1 last season, having only lost twice in seven visits.

In March of this year, early goals from Dominic Knowles and Zeli Ismail put the Brewers 2-0 up, and after Billy Kee missed a penalty, Oxford’s Ryan Williams pulled a goal back to ensure a tense finish.

The last time Burton lost in Oxfordshire was in 2011, when Darren Moore and Tom Parkes were both sent off in a 3-0 defeat.
