SHANE Cansdell-Sherriff has signed a two-year contract to stay at Burton Albion.
The 31-year-old centre-half was instrumental in the Brewers reaching the League Two play-off final during a loan spell from League One Preston.
Now, the Australian has signed permanently at the Pirelli Stadium as Albion look to build on two seasons in the promotion frame after they lost 1-0 to Fleetwood on Monday.
“I’m thrilled we’ve signed Shane,” said manager Gary Rowett. “I don’t believe there’s a better central defensive partnership in League Two than Shane and (Ian) Sharpsy.”
Meanwhile, Zander Diamond - who has agreed a three-year deal at Northampton - Gary Alexander, Jack Dyer, Michael Symes, David Gray and Freddy Hall have all been released at the end of their contracts.
