A MAN remains in hospital in Burton after jumping off the roof of a house in Clarence Street this morning.
Police said they did not yet know whether the man’s injuries were ‘life changing or threatening’, after his descent from the house opposite Angelsey Primary Academy.
Youngsters at the school were shielded from seeing the unfolding incident as it took place this morning, as all blinds on classrooms were closed.
Parents heading to pick children up for lunch were asked to collect them from another entrance.
Police cordoned off the entirety of Clarence Street throughout the incident, and for some time afterwards, but it was reopened earlier this afternoon.
The man who jumped is believed to live in the area.
Onlookers said they were ‘shocked and scared’ when they saw him on the roof, where he stayed for about an hour before piling up some roof tiles and jumping from them.
