POLICE have launched a murder inquiry following the disappearance of a Burton woman.

Lisa Bennett has not been seen since May 9 last year when she was caught on camera in a shop in Selly Oak area of Birmingham.

West Midlands Police revealed that it launched the inquiry after there was no evidence that the 39-year-old, who is originally from Burton and whose family still live in the town, was alive.

Detective Inspector Warren Hines said: “To date we have found nothing to suggest that Lisa had planned to leave or even that she is still alive.”

Lisa is described as white, around 5ft 8ins tall, with short dark brown hair and a tattoo of a flower on her right shoulder.

Anyone with any information to help the police investigation should call Force CID in Birmingham by dialling 101 or speak to Crimestoppers, anonymously, by calling 0800 555 111.
