VETS are currently checking the welfare of lifestock which was on board a lorry which crashed on its side at a Burton roundabout.
It is thought 38 tonnes of turkeys were on board the heavy goods vehicle which crashed at the Stapenhill end of St Peter’s Bridge at about 7am today.
Officers from Staffordshire Police and workers from Shipton’s Recovery Service are at the scene.
No time frame has been set on how long it might take to recover the lorry.
One lane of Stapenhill Hill road has been closed.
No one has been seriously injured in the crash.
Drivers are being warned to expect traffic delays in the area.
