POLICE are issuing a warning following a distraction burglary just an hour ago.

The burglary just occurred in Eureka Road, Midway, around 8.30am, when two men called at the elderly woman’s address stating they had come to put fencing up.

One distracted the woman by taking her into the back garden and the other entered her home and taken money from her purse. They then left in a white vehicle towards Midway Road.

They are described as being white and having large builds. One had medium length brown hair, tanned and clean shaven, wearing a black jacket with a red logo on the chest, dark trousers, and work boots. He is said to have a faint Irish accent.

If anyone has any information or seen anyone matching this description they should contact Derbyshire police immediately on 101, quoting incident number 94 of March 27.
