BURTON’S brewing heritage will come to the fore at a beer festival due to take place at the town’s rugby club this weekend.
Peel Croft will host 12 special beers for the three-day event. which begins tonight. There will also be a number of ciders.
The event, due to start at 6.30pm, will offer a chance for people to see the recently-refurbished club house, which has been modernised and changed to become a venue in its own right, according to steward Tim Gosling.
He said: “We’d like if people came down to see what we’ve done here.”
Beers from the Burton Bridge Brewery, Titanic Brewery, Everards Brewery and Waterfront are among those which will be on offer.
It is the fifth time the beer festival has been organised by Burton Rugby Club.
This year, the first team is due to play on Saturday, which could bring even more people to the Lichfield Street site.
The event will also run from noon tomorrow and noon until 3pm on Sunday.
