POLICE have launched an investigation after a motorcyclist was left seriously hurt following a crash in South Derbyshire.
The 49-year-old was rushed to Royal Derby Hospital following an incident involving a car in Milton.
Initial reports suggested the biker’s injuries may have been life-threatening, though his condition has since been reported as ‘serious but stable’.
Officers investigating the incident are now urging witnesses to come forward.
A spokesman for Derbyshire Police said: “The incident looks to have taken place at around 3.50pm on Tuesday.
“It is believed to have taken place along single-track lane outside Foremarke School.
“The biker, who is 49, was left with serious internal injuries and was rushed to hospital via a land ambulance.
“The motorcyclist seems to have been involved in a crash involving a Ford S-Max.
“After examination at hospital, the condition of the biker was said to be serious but stable.
“An investigation has now been launched to try to get to the bottom of what exactly happened during the incident.
“Officers have returned to scene as part of the investigation and also examined the nearby area.
“Now we are appealing to members of the public to assist us.
“We are asking anyone who may have seen the bike or the car involved to come forward.
“Whether this was before or after the crash, any information will help.”
