ANIMAL lovers helped to raise vital funds for an animal rehoming centre when it held its annual tea party.
The Blue Cross centre in Rolleston raised £260 from cake and tea sales which will now be put towards animals in the charity’s care.
Visitors had the chance to buy a slice of cake, a cup of tea and enter their favourite photos of pets in a picture competition.
Tamzin Boyd, who organised the fund-raising event, told the Mail: “It was an excellent day and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
“We sold lots of cake and hopefully now the money will be able to help lots of horses.”
Miss Boyd added that the charity is now planning its summer open, which will be held from 10am until 3pm on Saturday, July 19.
