Bosses in NW Leics criticise government scheme

TOWN hall bosses in North West Leicestershire have criticised the Government's Gold Standard homelessness scheme.

The district council said it was not taking part in the scheme, which sees other member authorities assess the quality of homelessness services, as it could not commit the manpower to a project which had 'little reward'.

The Gold Standard aims to improve services, but has come under fire for being optional.
