CONCERNS have been raised in East Staffordshire about the number of illegal drug-drivers.

It came following research that showed almost 30 per cent of people would not try to talk a friend out of drug-driving, and 10 per cent of people admitting to being a passenger in a car driven by someone under the influence of a substance.

In response, road safety charity Brake is urging people to 'stand up' to drug-drivers.

Meanwhile, a new law is due to come into force next year which will make it an offence for a person to drive with drugs in their system, and aiming to make it easier to prosecute those who do so.
