BRAZILIAN-born winger Alefe Santos has joined Derby County.
The 19-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the option of a further year, after turning down the offer of a new contract with Bristol Rovers.
Hull City had looked favourites to land the youngster and Celtic have also been linked with him.
Rams head coach Steve McClaren said: "He is a player with potential and has the determination to improve, so we are looking forward to working with him."
Meanwhile, Derby have declined to comment on a report that they could lose midfielder Craig Bryson for £750,000.
Burnley want to sign the 27-year-old Scottish international but Derby have rejected a bid from the Clarets.
The Rams said a £750,000 clause in Bryson’s contract only allowed clubs to speak to the player but today’s Lancashire Telegraph reports that Burnley’s initial offer could be enough to land Derby’s player of the year, who has two years to run on his current deal which he signed in May 2013.
The report says “it is understood there is nothing in Bryson’s existing terms to say that a bidding club need to pay more than £750,000” and the only reason for Burnley to increase their offer is if a rival bid was made.
