FEARS are growing for the safety of a heavily pregnant teenager who has been missing for more than two weeks.
An appeal has been launched in a bid to trace 18-year-old Devone Nicole Derrig who was last seen in Burton on April 2.
Miss Derrig, who was born in Coventry but regularly spends time in Burton and Swadlincote, had been staying at the Leopard Inn, in Lichfield Street, prior to her disappearance, Staffordshire Police said.
She is believed to be with her partner, 20-year-old James Hooper.
Senior officers in Burton said they were becoming increasingly concerned about the teenager, who is almost nine months' pregnant.
Miss Derrig is described as white, 5ft 6ins tall with a slim build and shoulder-length brown hair.
She speaks with a Midlands accent and has piercings in both ears.
A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "We are carrying out extensive searches to locate Devone and are growing increasingly concerned for her wellbeing, given the fact she is heavily pregnant."
"If you have seen her, or know of her whereabouts, please contact us on 101 quoting incident number 271 of April 2."
