BURTON’S Spirit Pub Company celebrated the launch of its 100th Flaming Grill pub with a special appearance from its very own ‘beefcake’ Eddie Hall, also known as Britain’s strongest man.

Eddie made an appearance at Spirit’s Support Centre, in Burton, yesterday, and challenged employees to arm wrestles. He also cut a specially commissioned ‘steak cake’ with operations director Nick Young and brand director Sally Whittaker. Freestyle fire dancers provided a flame grilled finish to the milestone celebrations.

Eddie said: “I’ve had a fantastic time here in Burton. I’ve received many awards and accolades during my strongest man competitions, but this is definitely the first time I’ve been presented with a steak cake.”

The event was part of a tour to celebrate the reopening of the Nag’s Head, in Mickleover, which becomes the brand’s 100th pub after a £96,000 refurbishment.
