A BURGLAR who raided a couple's room at Alton Towers Hotel has been jailed for a year.
Sean Gaynor sneaked into the room while the guests were out enjoying the theme park's attractions.
They returned to find the door ajar and their iPad and iPhone – worth a total of around £900 – had been stolen.
Hotel security cameras filmed the intruder, but he wasn't arrested until six months later in May this year.
Appearing at Stafford Crown Court yesterday, the 25-year-old, of Stone, admitted burglary.
Judge Paul Glenn said: "Entering hotel rooms and stealing is serious, because people expect them to be safe.
"No doubt you ruined (their) short stay at Alton Towers."
