A CONVICTED burglar is on the run from HMP Sudbury.

Deen Fisher absconded from the open prison on Sunday and is now unlawfully at large.

Police in Derbyshire are now requesting anybody who has seen the burglar to inform them of his whereabouts.

Fisher, 27, was sentenced to three years and four months behind bars at Derby Crown Court on June 28 last year.

He is from Belper, in Derbyshire, and has connections in the Alfreton area.

He is described as white, six feet tall and of slim build.

He has short black hair and brown eyes.

Anybody who sees Fisher, or knows of his whereabouts, is asked to contact police on 101.

Fisher is the latest in a string of people to walk out on their sentences at Sudbury.

Ten prisoners absconded between mid-November and the beginning of January, including several inmates who had been jailed for wounding, and a man who was put behind bars for manslaughter. Several have now been returned to custody.
