THE 5ths conceded nine times against high-flying Belper.
The Burtonians made a good start and the game was fairly even for the opening 10 minutes before the visitors found their rhythm and began to pile on the pressure.
Belper took the lead with a well worked attack down the right wing before delivering to a free man in the D for an easy finish,
Two further goals were added from short corners to give Belper a 3-0 lead at the break.
The home side made a spirited start to the second half and created a few scoring opportunities of their own. But in a similar fashion to the first half Belper’s superior pace and skill wore the Burton defence down and with 10 minutes to go the scoreline read 7–0 in their favour.
The Burtonians refused to give in and eventually their persistence paid off when they scored two goals in two minutes.
Andy Ball crossed the ball into the D for James Haward to sweep past the Belper keeper.
Shortly after Azhar Mahmood finished off a fine solo run with a well struck shot. The visitors added two late goals of their own to complete the scoring at 9–2.
The 5ths will expect an easier fixture at North Notts this weekend.
