BURTON Albion have rubbished claims that Torquay United are set to earn an £80,000 windfall from Billy Kee's move to Scunthorpe United.
The 23-year-old striker completed his move to the League One club on Monday
Torquay, who have a sell-on clause from the £20,000 deal they struck to sell Kee to the Brewers in 2011, believe the deal to be worth a whopping £250,000.
Torquay boss Chris Hargreaves said: "It's great news for the club. Things are tight, as everyone knows, and a bonus like this should help to ease the pressure."
However, Albion chairman Ben Robinson says the fee, which is not £250,000, will remain undisclosed.
"If they want to speculate it's up to them," he said. "The Football League know what the fee is.
"It looks like they've interpreted some of the wild guesses flying around."
