BURTON manager Gary Rowett is pleased at his side getting a bye in the first round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. The Brewers have never won a match in the competition in five years as a Football League club.
But this season they have a chance to take a rest while other sides have to play the first round, with the draw to be made on August 16.
"That just gives you a little breather with games coming thick and fast at the start of the season," said Rowett.
"It also takes away a little headache of working out who can and can't play.
"I think it's a good competition – any competition with a final at Wembley has to be taken seriously."
