BURTON Albion boss Gary Rowett was as surprised as many people in football by the sacking of Steve Burr.
The Kidderminster Harriers manager, based in Alrewas, was relieved of his duties this morning, despite the club being well in the Conference promotion race.
Speaking this afternoon, the Brewers chief said: "I feel sorry for Steve because he's done an amazing job there over the last two years.
"Our thoughts here go out for him.
"I can't imagine why he hasn't had the opportunity to manage in the league.
"Hopefully he'll be back somewhere soon."
Albion midfielder Jack Dyer is on loan with Kidderminster for month, but the deal should not be affected by the decision to sack Burr.
