WHOEVER is in midfield for us today will know they have a tough game.

York have got two ex-Burton lads in Adam Reed and Russ Penn in there, so we know it will be hard going against them.

Adam is there and it didn’t quite work out for him here, but he’s a decent player.

I got on well with Adam, but one or two things went against him.

He was a good laugh but unfortunately he just didn’t get in the team.

I’ve played against Russ Penn plenty and obviously the fans and some of the lads here will know all about him.

We need to build on Tuesday’s result, when we were decent to be fair, and it was a good three points.

And it was just what we needed after two disappointing results.

We’ve just got to win our own games and if that’s not enough for the top three, then fair play to the other teams who do make it.

There’s no point worrying about other teams, we just have to concentrate on our own game.

We’ve got a really big game today, because York are flying – but we’re confident of getting the result we need.

But if we don’t, we won’t get too down, we’ll just go again in the next game.

Billy Kee and Adam McGurk looked good together on Tuesday night, and we need someone to grab it by the scruff of the neck and go on a scoring run.

It could be anyone though, not just those two.

Adam has been out of the team for a few games and he looked sharp so maybe it’s done him good.

He’ll be raring to go today like the rest of us.

We’re hoping someone can push us over the line, but to be honest we’ve all got to do that.

We saw the new lad Callum (McFadzean) for the first time on Tuesday and I thought he did very well.

That sort of game will be new to him and he might take a week or so to get used to it.

He’ll have another week’s training behind him now, so we might see more of him today.

David Gray made his full home debut, and he has been super since he’s come to the club.

He’s a top lad, and he’s just been unfortunate that the form of Phil Edwards has meant he hasn’t had as many games in his favourite position.

And we’ve got another new face in this week with Ashley Hemmings joining from Walsall.

With Zeli (Ismail) getting injured, and Jimmy Phillips picking up a knock, it was important we had another couple of options.

I’m sure everybody’s looking forward to seeing him play.

The gaffer sees it as important to get these players in on loan so we don’t want to be caught short if we pick up a few injuries – although thankfully that hasn’t happened yet.

The more the merrier I say, and we’re going to need everybody between now and the end of the season.

We all push each other in training which can only be a good thing.

Our away form has been good this season, but we didn’t get the result we felt we deserved up at Scunthorpe.

Unfortunately, I probably should have done better with clearing the ball, and the lad’s done something he’ll probably never do again with that strike.

It’s important we get what we need on Saturday.
