BURTON Albion have completed the signing of Lucas Akins from Stevenage on a two-year contract for an undisclosed fee.
The 25-year-old winger joins after spending two years at Boro, where he scored 15 goals in 86 appearances.
Huddersfield-born Akins has also played for Hamilton, Partick Thistle and Tranmere Rovers.
Manager Gary Rowett said: “It’s a deal we’ve worked hard to try and conclude, and through it all Lucas was very keen to come and join us.
“It’s an excellent deal for the club and I think he’ll be a top signing.
“The chairman backed me on this one by paying a fee, which isn’t something I’ve done in my tenure here as manager.
“I really appreciate the help and it’s a sign that we want to be competitive again next season.”
