BURTON Albion manager Gary Rowett has made a double transfer deadline day swoop to bring in Leyton Orient's Michael Symes and Scotland Under-21 international Alex MacDonald on loan.
Striker Symes, 29, joins the Brewers from Orient until the end of the season, while 22-year-old Burnley midfielder MacDonald will stay for three months.
Former Everton trainee Symes (pictured) joined the O’s from AFC Bournemouth in the summer and has appeared 18 times, scoring twice in the process.
The 6ft3in striker has previously played for Shrewsbury Town, Bradford City and Accrington Stanley.
MacDonald, meanwhile, has made several substitute appearances for the Clarets, and also spent time on loan at Falkirk, Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Plymouth Argyle.
