BURTON Albion have strengthened their squad ahead of the League Two promotion push by signing ex-Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Ashley Hemmings on a month’s loan from Walsall.
The London-born 23-year-old, who can play on the wing or up front, began his career with Wolves, coming through the Molyneux academy after joining the club aged nine.
After loan spells with Cheltenham Town, Torquay United - where he played alongside Brewers striker Billy Kee - and Plymouth Argyle, Hemmings joined the Saddlers on a free transfer in 2012.
He has made 32 appearances this season, scoring four goals, but was deemed surplus to requirements at the Bescot Stadium.
In 2007, prior to making his debut for Wolves, he made a solitary appearance for England Under-17s.
