A BURTON-based artist is off to London to exhibit her paintings in a month-long show.
Yasmin Donlon, of Byrkley Street, has been an artist for 55 years, specialising in feline art, and will display three of her cat paintings alongside 50 other members of the Society of Feline Artists.
The show will be held at the Llewellyn Alexander Gallery in London from August 21 until September 19.
Mrs Donlon has always had a passion for paint, studying fine art and sculpture at Leicester University, and has combined this with her love of her five pedigree cats to create her work.
She said: "We've owned cats for a long time and I love painting them. I took part in the same exhibition about six years ago and it is a very big opportunity. From the friendly domestic tabby to the wild tiger it will have every aspect of the cat's character in paint."
After living in Burton all her life, she has recently taken an interest in painting its pubs, having already completed The Alfred Ale House and The Rose and Crown, among others. Mrs Donlon is also in the process of writing an e-book of poems.
