A CYCLIST has been taken to hospital following a crash in Burton this afternoon.
West Midlands Ambulance Service revealed that it had attended at the incident in Evershed Way, Burton.
A spokesman told the Mail: "Two ambulances and one rapid response vehicle are in attendance following an incident involving a car and a cyclist.
"One man has suffered head and facial injuries and is set to be taken to hospital."
A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: “The incident happened at the junction of Evershed Way and Anglesey Road at 3.42pm and involved a black Vauxhall Zafira and a cyclist.
“The male cyclist was taken by ambulance to the Hospital of North Staffordshire with serious head injuries.
“The driver of the Vauxhall Zafira, a 37-year-old woman from Burton, is helping officers with inquires.
“The road remains closed while specialist trained officers carry out an examination of the scene.
