POLICE chiefs have confirmed that a crash involving a police car and an ambulance in Burton left four people injured.
At around 9.45pm on Wednesday officers responding to a emergency police incident crashed into a non-emergency private ambulance in Shobnall Street at the junction of Casey Lane.
A spokesman for the force said: "The occupants of the ambulance, both ambulance staff, suffered minor injuries as did the two police officers in the marked police vehicle.
"They were all seen by paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service at the scene and the ambulance staff were taken to Burton's Queens hospital for treatment.
"The road was closed while an examination was carried out at the scene and an investigation into the collision is under way.
"Witnesses are asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 735 of July 30."
