FOUR Burton community groups have been shortlisted and are battling for votes to be in with a chance of winning a community fund award.

Voting is now open for the Lloyds Bank Community Fund 2014, and each of the four groups is in with a chance of winning £3,000, £2,000, £1,000 or £500, depending on the number of votes they receive.

Each year the community fund gives money to worthy causes for the work they do in the local community.

This year the 17th Burton, 1st Branston Scout Group, Tutbury Pre-school, Outwoods Primary School and Phoenix Rangers JFC are all vying for votes, alongside four groups from Ashbourne.

David Richardson, Midlands ambassador for Lloyds Banking Group, said: "This year your vote can make a significant difference to the amount awarded to each community group, so I encourage everyone to take a moment to champion a good cause locally and cast a vote."

More information is available and votes can be cast at www.lloydsbank.com/ communityfund until October 10.
