Burton man spared jail after assaulting police officer

A BURTON man has been handed a community order after admitting being drunk and disorderly in the town.

Wahed Hussain, 31, of Uxbridge Street, pleaded guilty to committing the offence in High Street on July 26. He also admitted assaulting a police officer and damaging a police vehicle on the same day.

In addition to the 12-month order, Hussain was ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid work and pay compensation.
