A HEAVY metal band are celebrating after one of their songs was picked to feature on the soundtrack of a new film.

Craig Hartwell, frontman of Burton metal band Enemo J, revealed that he and his bandmates could not believe their luck when they heard that a track from their new album would be featured in new movie Shooting Clerks.

The film is based around how cult movie Clerks came to be made and is being put together by a group of young Scottish film-makers and actors.

The buzz around the movie has been so great that big-hitting Hollywood director Kevin Smith, who was the director of Clerks and the person the film is based on, has backed the flick.

Dreadlocked singer Craig, who is a major fan of the director, spoke to the Mail about the news.

He said: "I am a massive Kevin Smith fan and could not believe it when I heard that they were going to be creating a biopic on him.

"I then found out that the film was being made in Scotland.

"So we got in touch with the film-makers to see if we could help them out in any way.

"We helped them raise some money for parts of the film to be shot in America and then they asked if they could use one of our songs in the film itself.

"They have not decided which track it will be yet but they have our entire new album and will pick a song from that.

"It will be a great feeling to hear our song blasting out of the speakers at the cinema when the film is released.

"It will be a very proud day for me and the entire band."

The news comes only weeks after the band rubbed shoulders with rock gods at the at the UK's number one rock music festival Download, which was held at Donington Park in North West Leicestershire.

The band, which formed at the dawn of the new millennium, will be looking to top off 'their best year yet' by supporting Marilyn Manson at Alt Fest in August in Kettering.

More information about the band's performance date and tickets is available online at www.alt-fest.com/2014
