WITH hundreds of couples from across Staffordshire saying "I Do" over August, registrars prepare for a busy weekend ahead.
With 71 ceremonies planned tomorrow and 20 for Sunday, Staffordshire's team of registrars will be busy helping couples tie the knot over the bank holiday weekend.
August is the busiest month for weddings in Staffordshire.
May to October remain the most popular months, with Valentine's Day a popular choice and already looking heavily booked for next year. Last year, Staffordshire County Council's registration service conducted 3,100 marriage ceremonies and 60 civil partnerships.
Mike Lawrence, cabinet member for children and community safety, said: "August is always a busy month for couples looking to tie the knot, probably because of summer and school holidays and the hope of having a nice sunny day."
