A NATIONAL Trust site is hoping to keep children entertained and out of trouble this summer with a whole range of outdoor activities.

Calke Abbey in Ticknall has something for everyone with its Calke Explore Trail.

The trail is part of the Trust's '50 things to do before you're 11-and-three -quarters' campaign to keep children busy during the holidays and has various activities along the way to help people tick them off their lists.

Following the trail into the woods you can have a go at willow weaving, writing a poem or finding beasties in the ponds amongst other things.

The more adventurous visitors can climb into a giant bird's nest, go bug hunting or have fun in the natural play areas.
