‘THE hardest one day challenge I have ever done’ were the words of a charity campaigner after he completed a walking trek across Wales in one day.
Ian Leech, of Branston, walked 42 miles to raise £500 for his daughter Mel’s Tribute Fund and the Lymphoma Association.
Mr Leech, who was joined by close friend Nicky Marck and his brother-in-law, Ray Barks, completed the walk in 14 hours on Saturday.
He told the Mail: “It was really good, but was the hardest one day challenge that I have ever done.
“The weather was really good but one thing that you do not take into account when training is the different kinds of terrain.
“We set off at around 3.50am in the morning and finished at 6pm at night.
“It was very different to anything that I have ever done.
“I was just glad to be able to raise funds and also raise awareness of some great causes.”
