POLICE have revealed that a driver had to be taken to hospital after the car he was driving ended up on its roof following it crashing into two vehicles.
The 40-year-old from Burton was taken to Burton’s Queen’s Hospital following the incident at just after 11pm on Tuesday in Gough Side, Burton.
Staffordshire Police confirmed that after treatment he was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving but was later released after officers decided to take no further action.
A spokesman for the force told the Mail: “We were called to an incident at around 11.05pm in the Gough Side area of Burton.
“Officers arrived to find a car on its roof and the driver injured.
“It quickly became apparent that the car had crashed into two parked cars that were unattended.
“The car on its roof was a silver Peugeot 207 and the cars it crashed into were a black Renault Megane and a yellow Vauxhall Transporter.
“The driver was taken to Burton’s Queen’s Hospital for treatment after suffering minor injuries.
“After treatment, he was then arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.
“The 40-year-old, from Burton, was later released without any further action being taken, therefore he was not charged with any offence.”
