POLICE say they are closer to catching those responsible for causing damage to a number of cars in Horninglow.
Sergeant Bob Champeau said inquiries into the offences were progressing positively.
He said: “We are now aware that more than 30 vehicles were damaged overnight between February 2 and 3.
“Officers have conducted enquiries and CCTV has been seized from a number of businesses and this continues to be examined.
“We have been able to establish from our inquiries that there are two offenders.
“At the moment I am not in a position to describe these people further other than to say that they know who they are and it’s only a matter of time before we identify them and come knocking at their door.
“I would therefore urge those people responsible to make contact with the police at their earliest convenience.
“These offences have caused a great deal of anger and distress as well as financial implications to victims. These types of offences don’t happen often in Burton and I fully understand the feelings of the victims.”
Anyone with information about the people responsible can call PC Di Nam on 101.
