A MUSEUM which commemorates soldiers from Burton and East Staffordshire will hold a charity valuation day tomorrow.
Television show host Charles Hanson (pictured) will be at the Staffordshire Regiment Museum, in Whittington, to offer his professional judgment on items brought along.
The popular antiques expert, who has run Hansons Auctioneers in Etwall since 2005, has also appeared on BBC’s Antiques Road Trip, Bargain Hunt and Flog It.
Mr Hanson said he and his team were delighted to be able to visit the museum, especially in the centenary year of the outbreak of the First World War.
He said: “What a marvellous venue to identify and advise on medals and militaria, family heirlooms and collections, celebrating those who served their country so magnificently.
“We look forward to discovering medals, souvenirs, diaries, armoury and memorials, connected with the Staffordshire Regiment, the army, navy and air force.”
Cordelia Mellor Whiting, who will help to run the day for the museum, said: “We welcome Charles Hanson and his team to the valuation day.
“We hope local people will keep the team of Hansons’ experts busy with valuations and tales of history of the variety of items we hope to see.”
The day begins at 10am and ends at 4pm, and donations of £1 per item are requested.
