DERBYSHIRE’s Police and Crime Commissioner, has announced his intention to appoint Hardyal Dhindsa as his deputy.
The proposed appointment will now go forward to the Derbyshire Police and Crime Panel, which meets today, for a Confirmation Hearing to review and make recommendations to the Commissioner.
Crime commissioner, Alan Charles, said: “The role of Police and Crime Commissioner is a big one, with a wide range of responsibilities and I was seeking someone who would help me deliver on my election pledges and support me in my work. I believe we have found that person. Hardyal’s previous experience, which includes tackling drug problems and working with Nottinghamshire Probation Trust.”
