FORMER Burton Mail Child of Courage, Chelsea Neat, was one of those at The Pingle School collecting her results bright and early yesterday morning.
The 16-year-old, who has raised money for both Help for Heroes and the Royal British Legion in her spare time, achieved seven A*s, one A and two Bs.
She said that she was pleasantly surprised with some of her grades and intends to go on to sixth form to study history, psychology, English literature and law at A-level.
She said that although she was predicted to get As in most subjects, she had talked herself into only achieving Bs and was elated to find out that she had exceeded her own expectations.
She said she then wants to progress to university to study for a degree in either history or psychology.
Chelsea, who was a Child of Courage winner in 2013, said that her fund-raising efforts did not interfere with her studies as she was able to manage her time effectively.
She told the Mail: "Just like some people do sports in their spare time, I like to go out of my way and try and raise money for good causes and do something good for the local community.
"Obviously studying for my exams was my main priority, but when I had time I carried on with my fund-raising."
