Consultation into the future of South Derbyshire mobile libraries continues

USERS of South Derbyshire's mobile libraries are being reminded that they can still have their say on the future of the service.

Derbyshire County Council is currently looking at ways in which it can make £157 million of savings to its annual budget. It currently costs £720,000 per year to run the mobile library service, which consists of two large vehicles alongside eight smaller ones.

Cabinet member for health and communities Dave Allen said: "These are difficult decisions and I want to make sure we make the most informed choice based on local people's views."
