POLICE chiefs have revealed an investigation launched after a collection of cars were seized from a South Derbyshire business was still ‘ongoing’.
Officers from Derbyshire Police removed dozens of items from Swadlincote Motor Services, in Woodhouse Street, Woodville, including an array of cars and even a forklift truck after being led to the firm following reports of a suspicious vehicle being located at the premises in January.
Two men, a 23-year-old from Burton and a 49-year-old from Swadlincote, were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and have both now been released on police bail.
The pair have since been bailed again to appear at Swadlincote Police Station on June 5.
Investigating officers revealed that dozens of items taken from the premises were still being examined as part of a ‘detailed and ongoing’ operation.
Recovery vehicles lined the street outside the premises to remove the cars and other items, while dozens of police officers combed over the inside of vehicles and undertook a detailed search of the inside of the premises.
