A ROGUES’ gallery of some of the most wanted criminals in South Derbyshire has been published.
These five photos show people Derbyshire Police want to speak to in relation to a raft of crimes across the area ranging from shoplifting to indecent exposure.
Now, police chiefs are urging people to come forward with any information on the men in a bid to make South Derbyshire ‘a safer place to live’.
Section inspector Nigel Lidsey told the Mail: “These CCTV images can play a vital part in our investigations to bring these criminals to justice.
“We release them in a bid to try and spark someone’s memory and to see if means that they can come forward with information to help us solve cases.
“People may see the crimes and think that they are not the biggest and not the worst, but for the victims they are and that is why this is important to us.”
Insp Lidsey also moved to reassure people that if they are worried about handing information over to the police there are several ways to make sure that they are protected.
He added: “Crimestoppers is a fantastic tool and allows people to send us information anonymously, without fear of them being identified or reprisals.
“Sometimes people prefer this way if they are too close to a situation. But giving us information directly is just as safe and we will always protect people.”
“I would urge the public to come forward with any information they have on these men pictured.”
Anyone who recognises someone pictured is urged to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
